About Us

"In the past, we have asked one thing of our gardens: that they be pretty. Now they have to support life, sequester carbon, feed pollinators and manage water."

- Doug Tallamy, Chair and Department Head of Department of Entomology and Wildlife Ecology, University of Delaware, Newark, DE

We Care about the Future of Life on this Planet!

Our Mission

At Meadowscaping for Biodiversity, our mission is to create beautiful and functional native plant gardens that enhance the lives of our clients. Perennial native plants have deep roots that soak up stormwater, sequester carbon, help cool the Earth, require less maintenance and water than lawn, thus providing relief from imminent climate issues and restoring lost biodiversity.  We remove and discard invasive plants as well, which endanger the health of all other plants in your garden.

What We Do For You

MS4B staff designs a plan for your property with plants that will add value to your land's ecosystems and curb appeal.  We plant only perennial native plants that offer habitat for pollinators, songbirds, other wildlife, and ensure your outdoor space is both beautiful and eco-friendly.

Our experts will work with you to create a custom plan that meets your specific needs. We give you lists of the native plants that we would use in the design. After you approve them, we buy them from the Native Plant Trust, Grow Native, or other native plant specialist nurseries and plant them for you.

Perennial Native Plants

Your satisfaction is our priority, and we strive to provide a service we are proud of. It's important to note that most native plants are perennials--they take three years to reach their full potential. In the words of an old saying, "Native plants sleep, creep, and leap."

Native plants can be easily controlled by cutting back or splitting plants. You can share them with other gardeners or give them to friends and neighbors.

No Harmful Chemicals

We pay special attention to the details of every project to ensure the complete satisfaction of each client. Our goal is to enhance your property's ability to provide safe, healthy habitat for all creatures that inhabit the air, water, and soil on your property.

We never use pesticides or fertilizers since most of the industrial varieties include harmful chemicals that can make you and songbirds and your pets sick. Toxic chemicals kill butterflies and bees -- delicate, beautiful creatures--pollinators that we need to grow our food supply.
